little story to share with use about an excited new starter .. 1989 young birds .lad called paul beattie joined the club ..another club member loaned him a clock and 14 thimbles . first race garstang approx 60 miles . and 20 lofts on allotments . you can imagine first flock comes every one shouting whistling flapping fantails .then the next flock comes .then paul shouts across to me . john me nom and pontoons come what shall i do . i shout back clock it i havent got mine ...paul then shouts back . NO THIMBLES LEFT
