Mike Tyson Gets Few Words In On The VIEW

Welcome back Pigeon Fans!!

Just a few words on the Mike Tyson "View" interview that just aired on ABC. We opened on Barbara showing us a few seconds of Robin Givens from Mike's Interview back when he was 22 years old. Whoopi called him "Fantastically Amazing". As the interview started Mike began to explain how he felt he was ambushed or 'bushwhacked" by the network and Barbara back then. At this point I felt like I may hear Mike actually speak on his own behalf for once but ofcourse the "ladies" had other ideas and quickly cut him off and changed the subject. Later he began again to speak on a personal level about how he is flat broke and does not deserve the family he has, but again there was no room from our hosts for poor Mike to elaborate. Whoopi did mention how much she loved and showed a clip from his role in "Hangover", but, to me, this just seemed like lip service. Mike gave wonderful tribute to his wife KiKi who he shares a 16 month old with and they touched, however briefly, on his retirement from boxing in 2005 as well.
Then it finally came, the part I had been waiting two and a half weeks to hear about, the news on the upcoming series on Animal Planet called Taking on Tyson. Boy was I disappointed!! Mr. Tyson started to inform us that he had been a fancier, more into tumblers, since he was a young child. He also mentions that racing pigeons are very new to him. The best part, I felt, was at the beginning and at the end of the 15 second "sound-bite" they allowed him for the subject, Mike said "pigeons and birds in general were his passion". I truly felt that Mike Tyson made a very respectable showing of himself, only mentioning PETA and Women Groups in a negative light very quickly and tactfully He might just make a fine ambassador for our sport. My own hopes are that this TV series goes to air and we might get a few more than 15 seconds from ole Mike on our sport of pigoen racing.

    Thanks for tuning in!!
