Rainy Day Pigeon Racing
Yuk! Here in southwestern Ontario Canada, we are starting to wonder what the sun looks like. With another day of off and on showers, we had to pick our launch time this morning carefully. It wasn't raining when they finished but we think they flew through a shower or two. You have to love these determined little racers. Watch how fast they trap today in the player below.
Here is a link to http://twitter.com/evvrpc 's tweet. This is a great story from SFGate the home of The San Fransisco Chronicle. It tells of "Cirrus the wonder pigeon" and his four year journey, from being found by Olene Sparks on her deck off the shores of San Fransisco Bay, discovery of the birds origins from a Racing Club in Kansas, just how he might have gotten there and finally the trip home.

Here is a great YouTube channel from a guy in Northern Minnesota, in his own words "I'm just a fancier, not a competitor...yet".
His channel is called "YellowKing" and he seems to be a real animal lover. There is even a great video of a Bantam Rooster.?.

This link leads to a video with really cool "roller pigeon" flight. The channel link attached shows "pigeon folk" are from all walks of life.
